    Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau valley

    Being greeted by our tour guide today. He briefs the tour program as well as gets you acquaintance with the bikes for about 15 – 30 minutes depending on your own experience with bikes.
    8.30am: We will manage to leave Hanoi city then take a ride west to Mai Chau, an area of beautiful landscape and home to the Thai ethnic minority. 
    We take our wheels on road No6 passing expansive rice paddies and scenic villages. Have a stop for refreshment before tackling 70km of the undulating road with great view of mountains and valley. 
    Noontime: We will reach Mai Chau valley. We ride straight to Pom Coong, a peaceful village of White Thai ethnic minority where we have lunch, dinner and spend our night in a traditional stilt-house of a Thai family. 
    Afternoon: We can have a walk to visit and look the daily life of the local people in their village. Return to Pom Coong Village for overnight.

    Day 2: Mai Chau - Son La

    Breakfast at the home-stay before we embark on a beautiful ride up north to Son La. The road is in good condition and the scenery is stunning. We may take frequent stops to visit minority villages of H’mong, Black Thai,… or to take photos. 
    Lunch will be in a local restaurant en route. 
    The highlight of our ride today could be the tea plantations in Moc Chau Plateau, where you find the best green tea in Vietnam grown along the roads on hillsides. We reach Son La in the afternoon. Have time to visit Son La prison to understand a part of Vietnamese French war history.
    We check in the hotel and free time for dinner tonight. Overnight in Son La.

    Day 3: Son La – Than Uyen

    Breakfast at hotel, we hop on our motorbikes for a ride on road No6 for about 30km to visit Thuan Chau Market, where you will meet Black Thai in their beautiful costumes  and selling their home-made products. This is very nice chances for photos. Then we ride toward Than Uyen with a short turn back and we take a turn to Road No279. This is time for going off road and fun experience here will be the highlights of today.
    Stop en route for lunch around Quynh Nhai area. 
    Then we continue our motorbikes to Than Uyen and enjoy the awesome views of stunning terrace fields, Son La Lake – that is the human-made lake for Son La hydroelectric plant, the biggest one in South East Asia. Arrive in Than Uyen afternoon then check in hotel for relaxing and dinner.

    Day 4 : Than Uyen - Sapa

    Save the best for the last! Today, we enjoy breakfast at the hotel and get ready to take the most stunning ride to the best place in North Vietnam, Sapa. 
    After about 100km, we meet O Quy Ho pass – one of four most grand passes in North Vietnam and the entire Vietnam actually. We will ride up to the highest point of the pass and the high road of Vietnam at 2000m to the sea level. You are absolutely amazed by terrace fields, valleys and the winding roads that you have passed by while standing at the top.
    We arrive in Sapa in lunch time. The afternoon will be free on your own account to explore then we go back to the hotel for checking in and overnight.

    Day 5: Sapa- Ha Giang province

    Today, you are going to connect two best representatives of North West, Sapa, and North East, Ha Giang.
    Breakfast at the hotel, we ride for Ha Giang after a visit to Ha Khau border gate – a notable gate between Vietnam and China. On the riding way along road No70 then 279, we may stop en route at colorful Bac Ha market if it is Sunday. 
    Depending on the season, we may take the route via Hoang Su Phi where the terrace fields are absolutely stunning in May when irrigating the fields and in October – November when harvesting the rice.
    The last part of this days is rather easy with about 45km on good road No02. We arrive in Ha Giang, check in the hotel and overnight.

    Day 6: Ha Giang – Đong van – Flagpole Lung Cu

    Breakfast at your hotel, we will start for Dong Van – the first Karst Geopark of Vietnam via Bac Sum pass. We stop en route for a very nice photo chance at Quan Ba before visiting Lung Lam village where you can watch Hmong people weaving flax trees to make their clothes.
    Stop for lunch at Yen Minh area.
    In the afternoon, we keep our motorbikes to Vuong House and Lung Cu flagpole – this flags the furthermost point to North Vietnam. We ride back to Dong Van and tonight we overnight at Dong Van.

    Day 7 : Dong Van – Bao Lac

    Morning, we take breakfast at the hotel and resting for some minutes. We commence this day with a short walk to a belvedere from French colonial time for an overview of the whole Dong Van town. After that, we take another hike to surrounding villages then back to the hotel, get ready for the next motorcycling part.
    Today we are going to conquer one of the four greatest and highest passes of Vietnam, Ma Pi Leng. Once you can reach the highest point of the pass, the views of valley and Nho Que River under your wheel are absolutely unforgettable. This is the don’t-miss chance for photography.  
    Stop for lunch at Meo Vac area. Then follow the national road No34 via Ly Bon to Bao Lac. We arrive in Bao Lac late afternoon, check in hotel and overnight here.

    Day 8: Bao Lac – Ba Be

    Breakfast at the hotel and prepare for a great off-road challenging today.
    We start our ride to Ba Be lake – the biggest natural lake in North Vietnam. You are going to pass and stop to see lovely water wheels as the homemade irrigation system for terrace fields. Riding further, you should prepare for some challenging and long off-road portions (maybe 50km or more) when you ride over the road covered by streams or under constructions. In some parts, the water level might be high up to the half of your motorbike wheels. This is the most fun moments of the day.
    For less experienced riders, an alternative easier way is using temporary wooden connectors. Lunch will be served en route.
    We arrive in Ba be, leave our bikes at the homestay and take a short walk to the boat pier for a very nice 2-3 hours boat trip. Our guide will show you how special and amazing this lake is with his fantastic introduction. Walk back to our homestay and we overnight in a house of Tay ethnic tonight.

    Day 9: Ba Be lake - Hanoi

    Enjoy slowly the breakfast at your homestay in the morning of pure nature. We say goodbye to our kind host for the last ride of this adventure to Hanoi. On the way, we will pass Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen – where is the first industrial zone of Vietnam for steel products. 
    Stop for lunch en route. Keep our ride and we get back to Hanoi late afternoon. Time to celebrate your completion of the great motorcycling adventure over North Vietnam.

Although it is so fun and adventurous to ride in Vietnam it is surely a challenge for any foreign rider since the traffic is so different from the rest of the world. Moreover, we want everyone to enjoy their motorbiking experience on this trip and we recognize the importance of group members being allowed to ride at their own pace. At times there can be a fair distance between the front and rear riders in the group, with the support vehicle and tour leader out of sight. The support vehicle will pick up any group members who wish to take a break from motorcycling at any time.

    All meals, which are indicated in the itinerary, are included in the price of this trip. While in big towns we will enjoy Vietnamese cuisine in fine restaurants. Once we travel away from big towns, the emphasis will be on healthy and nutritious fresh local produce.

    In big towns we use fine 3-star hotels with center location. Please contact us if you prefer higher hotel categories.
    In remote areas we use the best hotels or guest houses available. Home stay in villages is simple in term of bedding condition and toilet. We will sleep on beds or floor with mattress, clean sheet, pillows and mosquito nets.

    The tour will be led by one of our tour guides who are experienced in guiding motorcycling tours in Vietnam. He has been carefully selected and trained in this field and is fully licensed in tour guiding by the government. In addition, he has been trained in first-aid by SOS International and he knows how to deal with difficult situations. You will have a great time traveling with him.
    A typical motorcycle riding day starts at about 8.30 am after breakfast. Lunch times can vary depending on the distance. We aim to reach the next overnight stop by 4.30 or 5. During the riding we will have short breaks for rest, snack and photographing.

    The upgrade to Dirt Bikes are always available and upon your request. We have many Dirt Bike models various from 125CC up to 650cc for wide range of riders' experience. They are very much suit to Vietnam roads.
    Due to the road conditions of Vietnam, big-size or big-engine motorbikes (such as: 1000cc up) are not popular and expensive. Such big-engine motorbikes may not maximize their power as well as technical specs while highway express in Vietnam is not good enough and the awareness of traffic attendants are relatively low. Moreover, the rental prices can be very high due to high imported taxes added into the price. We strongly encourage you contact to our team if you decided to take those ones.
